Our Story

Since the Wooden Chair opened its doors on February 10, 1993, it has grown to be one of the most unique restaurants in Stevens Point. The restaurant is housed in the original structure which was built in 1891 to hold the First National Bank. The exterior Lake Superior brownstone is still in its original condition and the interior still holds many of its original features including oak wainscoting, fireplaces, and brick walls. Along with their children, Noah and Neah, the whole family is looking forward to delivering the best experience, service, and made-from-scratch food that you’ll rave about.
